Yesterday, our class did a experience in humanities on our Learning Profile. The learning profile I got in the end is A, which I didn't find it too surprising about it. The parts of body that we have tested on are our brain, eyes, ears, hands and feet. It was all very fun to do.
The profile says I learns best by focusing on the details. Processes by analysis, verbalization, and writing. But I think I also likes to learn by moving around and do hands-on things too. It also says I can learn best by auditory and visual. But I love kinesthetic and I found out I actually sucked at visual (I do like art a lot and can do really well though!!!!). I thought it was kind of surprising at this part because I know about this and I thought it was could of weird of it saying the opposite of what I thought. That's all about how do I learn best with.
The thing I need to improve in as it says about me is that I have to control my level of stress or I can get angry easily. I thought it actually is very much true because I do get angry easily. Sometimes, I even get angry without knowing it, which means I have hurt my friends serial times already. I also found out that this is like the only part that I strongly agrees with what it says on the paper.
The strategy/ies that can help me to improve my learning is maybe be more active (I don't know if that's true...) and maybe don't get mad too easily. I thought the don't get mad too easily part is like my weak spot because sometimes, I hurt people without knowing it all because I was kind of yelling at them when I talk to them. I'm not sure if I should be more active and do more hands-on things because I nearly do it every time if I can find a place to do so.
The last thing is that I want my teacher to know that I am pretty much very even and probably OK with whatever the assignment is about. I also find out that I study better by sitting at the front a little to the left because except for my brain, I have everything on my right that's dominate to me. However, I do like to do things at different times. For example, if I'm really tired and I have to do a big end-of-unit test or do push ups in PE, I would be hating it forever. This is also why I get bossy and couldn't calm down because on my paper, it says I can easily get annoyed or angry. Sometimes I'm sleepy and just don't feel like moving around (even though I'd love to when I'm not sleepy). Art is something that's both OK and relaxing to me at any time. But I hate it if it just comes to talking with no action or with lot of instructions like "don't touch this and don't do that..." (No offense Mrs Paz!!). I think I'm still too active for all that and just can't sit still for a whole 80 minutes (unless I just have to do it with no other choice).
Here's a picture of my profile person. As you can see, I am mostly right with my Brain left.
Enjoy :D :D

Collaborative Literature Circle
In class when it was humanities, we did a collaborative Lit. Circle. The partner I have chosen is Shin and I thought we did a good job. The book we are reading is called "Hatchet". It is written by Gary Paulsen. The book is very interesting and I have also described it in my last blog (you can scroll down the page a little bit to see my previous blog post) as well. Now I shall answer three questions about working with a partner. First...
1. The benefits of working with a classmate
The benefits of working with a classmate is that first, we can all relax and focus less on it because we don't have that much work to do it on. The Reason that we don't have to do much work on it is because the other person will be working on some of it so you can have more relaxing time. The second thing that's good about this Lit. Circle is that we can get the other partner to check your work so if it doesn't make sense to him but make sense to you, then you'll have to change it because it might not make sense to the teacher who's grading them as well, which mean...BAD GRADES!!!!
Second...
2. Challenges / obstacles which you overcame (tried to overcome).
This time, the obstacles I have overcome with my partner are the question part. The question part was really hard and we, at that time, can only come up with one question. We thought and thought about another one but at last, Shin thought of a good one and we put is on. This is one of the hardest part I think we have overcame and I felt really happy because at first, we thought we're going to fail.
Lastly...
3. New understandings that you gained about the novel.
This time, the new things I have understood about this novel is that Brian is able to make a fire and he is also able to gather food for himself so he won't starve. I think those are very important and that is why this time, our passage on our Lit. Circle is about those two topics. I also knew now exactly what the secret Brian always have in his memories is and what it's about. This also allowed us to link to why Brian's parents got divorced. The last new thing I have discovered about this novel is that Brian got hurt by a porcupine. These are about all of the things I have understood this time about this novel.
Enjoy!! :D

My Lit Circle Group
My Lit Circle group helped me really much. First, the discussion helped me. Without the discussion, I would have a much lower understanding of the book because each person would probably have a different point and a different view. This way, we all can understand more because sometimes, something in the book could have a lot of meanings. We can also tell someone that his or her idea isn't right when they had a wrong understanding of the passage and this way, we can all learn together instead of us guess the wrong anwser and have a bad mark in our Lit Circle sheet.
The connections I have made during the discusion was when I saw a fighting movie about a guy having C.P.R. from someone else and that, I thought, related to Brian because the pilot needed C.P.R. at that time as well. The second one was when nearly everytime I have a plane ride, especailly on the part where we are about to land, I would feel like I have whether forgot my stomach behind somehow or feel a kind of pressure pushing against my ear and everything sounds strange instead of their normal voices. I thought this related to the book because when Brian's plane was about to crash, the plane went down really fast and he could also feel those things above as well.
My prediction about what will happen next is that Brian would probably fall down into the forest below and stay there for probably a very long time until somehow, a plane came and took him home. But I think it would be really hard for him to survive, he might even die by the crash.
Here's a plane shown only the tail in the sea like Brian's plane.
